>>41809949Let's Go has aspects that are superb, and others that are terrible.
Superb includes the presentation, world visuals, soundtrack, sound design, companion interaction, overworld encounters, and following/riding Pokémon.
Terrible primarily includes the capture system, which fails to embrace the nuances and adjustments of Pokémon Go's capture system in either docked or handheld modes.
Capturing a single Pokémon takes too long and are too prone to frustration when you cannot land an accurate throw, which also provides minimal advantage due to botched capture bonus and base catch rate calculations.
Even something like an internal HP that gradually decreases with each successive attempt would have made the game more enjoyable.
The trainer battles are fine, they're as limited as Red and Blue were, with the exception of mega evolutions becoming available at the end which are a free boost due to the lack of held items (and abilities). The main issue was that your partner Pokémon is absolutely busted once it gains access to its unique moves, but you're free to never use it if you choose so.
Active Pokémon Go players mostly see the game as a Meltan Mystery Box dispenser anyway, that's all I use it for now. Shame that Sword/Shield lacks this functionality or I could shelve Let's Go entirely.
