Here’s what I’d do
>Make Cheren and/or Bianca Ash’s traveling bros alongside Iris.
If Ash were to still get all 3 unova starters, Bianca gets Litwick or Larvesta as her starter and Cheren gets a Lillipup or Rufflet as his starter.
>Have Ash get Ghetsis’s Hydreigon during the Team Plasma arc with it being released by Ghetsis and left to die only for Ash to catch it in order to save its life.
Hydreigon would initially act cold towards Ash and especially Charizard. Disobeying Ash at the start, but warming up to the gang.
> Tepig and Snivy would both have deemed their trainers unworthy with Seamus (Tepig’s original trainer Shamus having the feeling be mutual with his episode basically having the two make up)
>Iris would be trying to prove herself to Drayden as a great dragon type trainer as Drayden was her mentor which her attitude caused a rift between them and she’s trying to prove her worth.
Also Iris would be more playful and approachable.
