USUM Team Skull is more or less the same as in SM, as far as characterization goes. Guzma's teams are improved, though.

USUM only really edits a few things:

Beyond the few other moves and mons they added of course, that's honestly it.

No. Guzuma is too OP.

He has a Golidpod, Masquerin, Pinisir, Scizor, Vikavolt. Give him a Heracross and he'd be unstoppable. In USUM he can beat anyone except Nercromza.

He's Elite 4 material.
