The texture work in Pokken is unparalleled. They manage to make the fur look like fur, steel look like steel, etc without betraying the original design. Usually, making cartoon characters more realistic just makes them look like shit.

You really should. Sure the campaign gets kinda stale, but sometimes it gets difficult enough to make you want to push through. Also practicing with different pokemon against different pokemon on command was cool, as was all the customization options.
