The realistic textures are very weird looking and i'm not sure if they would work in a mainline game but they could have at least used the models and tone down the textures a bit

I think the direction for pokemon is fine in terms of model art direction, but i do wish there was more polish in the animations and expressions. F.e. I wish some pokemon actually closed their eyes and didn’t just have the pupil imitate closing

Start with: Skarmory, Kingler, Flygon, Steelix, Eiscue (for meme picks)

Type Null, Nihilego, Plusle/Minun (think Ice climbers), Machamp, Dragonite

Sirfetchd or Galarian Farfetchd, Regirock, Porygon 2, Lopunny, Delibird

Unlockables:Pangoro, Haxorus, Audino, caterpie with a possible wurmple skin (as a memepick) pikachu, Falinks and Garchomp

I'm not sure Pokken is the best comparison to make. It's a Wii U port, so obviously the graphics aren't gonna be the best, and will look weird through the glasses of "a mainline Pokémon game". I think Incineroar from Smash Ultimate is the best example of what mainline Pokémon should look like.

Just accept it wont happen anytime soon.

This was pokemons jump to the strongest console by nintendo ever, and they didn't feel the need to rework the game, they are still using the same garbage engine, battles have the exact same camera angle for attacks and shit, characters still move on a gride when animated.

If you use rockslide in doubles, and it misses one pokemon, it STILL plays the animation as if they both got hit, how in the fuck is this still a thing?

There is no dev on Earth big enough to make a 3D fighting game with more than 900 unique fighter models. Thus it is not a question of whether Game Freak is lazy or not. Yes, they are lazy. But them not doing fighting game quality models for monsters is not an indicator of this.

This. They could've started on this since ORAS. You wouldn't even need to do a dex cut. Just update the models and animations for the region's pokedex and leave rest as they were. As long as there were some general rotation (almost) all the current pokemon would've been updated since XY.
