Mostly add everything back in and then add some new shit.

Beyond that the only major changes of existing content are:

>return to 2D
>remove IVs/Nature effects/EVs for clothing/armor that basically makes it possible to decide your shit
>splitting Abilities into Abilities and Adaptations so things aren't forced to only have Levitate or Rough Skin because those are now species inherent Adaptations, not abilities
>in general a lot more options to turn on or off

Your armor idea is pretty cool. It would be difficult to give every pokemon visual armor choice so maybe the armor has to be invisible like most RPGs. Certain items show up though, like FF-tier Ribbons that are easily added.

I would in short order
Reduce the dex for the game by another hundred making it 300
Make most of the new pokemon be trade evolutions
Make a "Shiny" coloration where you feed a pokemon an item and it's color becomes it's shiny self
Add more story
Have a battle simulator again, one on one mode only 7 rounds 1 BP per win, 2 if you win without any of your pokemon fainting
Make sure to shiny lock no only starters, legends again but also all gift pokemon in the game
increase the shiny charm's rate by 5 percent

Holy mother of based, I want Pokemon Tactics now. This might work better as a spinoff but it won't get enough money and attention if that's the case. Maybe it's for the best the main devs don't touch it. Also quick idea that just popped up: a self-contained story like Mystery Dungeon where you play as pokemon except it's like the Tales series, full action combat and "techs" as your moves, PP instead of TP. I'd play the shit out of a Pokemon themed rip-off of Tales.

Every region, you pick where you start. Gyms whould be lvl locked, servers for online play in overworld. Legendarys are raid battles and much harder to defeat. All pokemon available no more event only shiny locked. Quest system? Maybe more morpg style??
