Dragon was the last gym in Johto, Unova 1, and Galar. That’s it. 3 times. It’s not that big of a deal.

Since Gen 1 Game Freak wanted dragon to be the big showdown type with them being strong and only weak to each other or ice types.

Dragon types were gen 1's dynamaxing.

This is a game for kids still. Though it would be nice if they went with multitype themes like fantasy being fairy, dark, and dragon.

this, the last gyms are supposed to be harder anyways.
just make it so like, starting from the 5th gym they stop being types and start being themed, like weather, status conditions and the like

Because the entire point of gyms is to expose new players to type matchups, and to vet their teams from having too many Pokemon with similar weaknesses.

Gym 2: Electric/Flying/Ground (Level 25 ace)
Gym 3: Grass/Fire/Water (Level 35 ace)
Gym 4: Dragon (Level 45 ace)
Gym 5: Bug (Level 55 ace)
Elite 3: Fairy/Poison/Psychic (Level 62 ace)
Champion: Mixed (Level 68 ace)

Rematches:
Gym Leaders: Level 72 ace

The level gap between gyms is intentional
I want there to be more content between gyms, and not just 5 min walks between one gym to the next
I think I should actually increase the regular league levels and rematch levels to increase difficulty
Elite 3: Level 65 ace
Champion: Level 75 ace
Rematch:
Gym Leaders: level 75 ace
Elite 3: Level 85 ace
Champion: Level 95 ace
