How do I get over the fear of failure? I want to try competitive pokemon and have made a team or two to try out but I'm scared of getting bodied and feeling like shit

Eh, I feel like 99% of us all get absolutely bodied in our first few attempts at battling online. Also it helps that these people are total randos that you'll never meet ever. And the fact that they don't really give a shit about how good/bad you are, they just want to battle.

Also if it helps losing in a pokemon battle has like 0 real world consequences. You'll be fine anon just have fun with it

one of my problems with competitive pokemon is I never know what type of team I'm supposed to use. There's literally too many variables. Do I just go hyper offense? do I make a trick room? do I meme with baton pass? do I use the smogon mons like excadril/toxapex/ferrathorn? do I just say fuck it and whip out zacian/zamazenta/eternatus?

I've played showdown recently, i have at least 60% wins while being new to it, even pulling a few sweeps and no-fainting fights yet i still feel like a fucking loser after every lost fight.
