i agree that it has to be a bit more specified:
1 per Mon (counting its evolutions), +1 extra for a good theme, +2 for a new type combo
-1 per bad theme, -1 for over used type combo (as in just water type and nothing special from it, or another rock/ground with sturdy)
regional variants only count for new type combos (normal +contents amount), if it revives a shitmon +3

some other factors to consider and later check scoring: good movepools, not useless gimmicks, new evos to old mons (keeping old mon still viable) etc.
