It's hacked in. Eternamax form isn't legitamently obtainable by any means, and would be absolutely fucked BUSTED if it could be (It's BST is over 1100 ffs).

That's his point though, they coded in a specific good-looking angle with a well-sized model that looks fantastic...for a pokemon YOU CAN'T EVEN LEGITAMENTLY USE.

I think the trainers sitting on the battle field might be the problem. You wouldn't be able to place Wailord equal distance from the opposing Pokemon, and keep the trainer right behind it. The example here isn't exactly fair, because you are comparing a Dynamax pokemon to a regular pokemon.

It'd take slightly more work, but Colosseum and XD proved they could keep both scaling and trainers in battles. The real question is why the hell they even included Wailord in the game

It worked in those games because there was so much more room. The trainers were much further away from each other, and so were the Pokemon. The perspective they give you is your character's perspective, if they were to do what they did in Col/XD, you wouldn't even be able to clearly see the opposing trainer at all.
