>>41865655I caught a Ralts after the league because I thought Wally's Gardevoir looked cool.
It was male and named MORRIGAN, which I thought was a male name (lol). I must have seen it on the internet due to the Capcom character... it sounded wizardy so of course it seemed like a good name.
Anyway I was fond of MORRIGAN. I raised him until the 60s (which is rare for me, I don't grind levels much) and gave him a cool moveset. He is in Heart Gold right now.
Before seeing the 3D model in Colosseum, I thought he had no legs and that he floated around like a guardian angel, that he had no mouth because he spoke thru telepathy and that he was not that feminine (weird, considering Kirlia), so of course the 3D model left me a little disappointed.
Fast forward a few years and I see people drawing female Gardevoirs as horny waifus getting pokéballs shoved in their wombs, horny guys on forums killing male Ralts and only wanting female ones, people memeing about male Gardevoirs, so of course it finally hits me like a brick.
Gallade obviously cemented Gardevoir as a cute waifu pokémon, and the following updates (fairy type, mega) just strenghtened it.
Idk how to feel about this. I don't particularly mind it from the fandom, but sometimes I wish GameFreak just left Gardevoir as mysterious, androgynous and solemn, instead of what the mon is today.
