They won't fix it because its the only thing keeping the players engaged, in fact the way dens currently work are so fucking bad that the exploit is basically required for them to be made even remotely fun. 'Fixing' it would be like fixing a certain character in league of Legends known as Riven, she has numerous bugs in her kit that are 'intentional' because without them her playerbase would squeal and whine about how much they ruined her, despite dozens of interactions in her kit don't follow the games rules. Same applies here.

You can force a raid to reroll by starting to search for other players to join it, hitting the Home button, going to settings, changing the system time to one day in the future, then going back into the game and quitting the search for other players. Keep doing that over and over and it resets the raid each time, so you get 300 Watts each time and can keep doing it until the Pokémon you want appears.

There are Youtube guides that explain it better, but you basically trick the game to believe a full day has passed when it searches for raid partners. Push the home menu button and manually change the Switch's time clock to the next day. Then when you exit out of the raid, the raid den has reset and you can quickly roll a new den monster without wasting wishing pieces.

Sirfetch'd has a 1% spawn rate and only spawns as a 4 or 5 star raid so you're looking at literally hundreds of resets to find one and even then you aren't guaranteed a Hidden Ability. I literally went through over 700 resets to get my Scrappy Duck.

I literally didn't even know all games so far supposedly had all pokemons ever, before i heard about it a few years ago in relation to SuMo i didn't know about carrying them over between games either (which i still find kind of a weird obsession because as the other anon kinda said what's the point of getting new games if it's all about what you did before or what you can do in sequels that you don't know when will come, if you'll like them etc.). My brothers didn't either and they've been more active pokemon fans than me in recent years

I'm the first to call myself a casual pokemon player, but that's why I'm questioning the notion that "the series is built on" these seemingly/relatively niche features that apparently many people don't care or know about (whatever you think of its quality SwSh clearly isn't failing to catch the masses' attention)

If you read my post you'll see I was solely talking about the collecting aspect of the game.
I want my collection to be future proof, wtf. Thats the basic aspect of collecting. Tell someone whos into numismatic that he wont be able to look at his new coins in two years. Whats the point?
If you want to spend time and "effort" catching those forms to flex in raids or use them in game against NPCs fine. Good for you.
I just said that in my opinion its not worth the trouble since you cant use them online and cant be a part of my "collection" (G-max Gengar will just be a Gengar next game or in Home, unlike a shiny mon)

If i knew the dexcut was going to happen and that megas were going to be removed while playing XY, i'd still got the Stones. It was not tedious or boring to obtain them and you could use at least One mega online, It was fun to build a team around It.
My point Is that i see no reason to go through hours of resetting for a Pokémon that i can't battle with and i wont be able to add to my collection. Not worth it. Not fun.
If the online actually worked properly and Gmax weren't such a pain in the ass to get, i'd have gladly join the raids.

The only reason it seemed like an issue was because pretty much everyone on the planet with a switch was playing at the same time on release, so naturally any bricks would stand out

I don't think it's the same case, but I was having the same problem and turns out I had to wait for a menu with 3 empty spaces under your name to appear, instead of immediately going to the Switch home menu as soon as I click to search for players.

For Gmax Gamefreak's intent was probably that poeple would wait until the Gmax they want gets promoted like Snorlax and others are currently, that's why the only allowed Gmax in VGC are the one who had this period of increased appearance.

Do Wishing Piece Dens not usually stay if you don't use them?
I used one on a water spot hoping for a specific mon at one point and didn't get it. The result was a pokemon I wasn't fit to take out so I just left it.
Pretty sure that den never despawned and has just rerolled each day.

Like, is the "change the clock while in "Waiting for others" even necessary? Seems to me like they just put in a thing where Wishing Piece dens, at least the last one you made, don't go away until they've been done and keep rerolling. In that case, the only "exploit" is the clock manipulation which really isn't something they'd probably bother to stop.

Why would they? This literally what is making Gigantamax usable. Imagine a world without the exploit where you would need to rely on other people raidz with a very low catch rate for these mons and extremely rare to appear. Even with the exploit shits like G-Duraludon are extremely rare.

No, but hunting mega stones were tough the same way hunting legendaries were back in gens 3/4/5. Hunting gigantamax without the exploit is boring and idiot, almost not accessible.

It is an exploit. The developers never intended tor people to still have active dens after they change the date. People farm watts, change the weather in the wild area, and reroll for certain Pokemon when they are supposed to only have this chance once a day. People use this same trick for the Poke Job stat training, hatching eggs, and the daily Lottery.

This is similar to what happened with Poke Pelago.

The thing about the dens rerolling with the date I'm not sure is a glitch or anything. I have a wishing piece den I made days ago and I never do it and it keeps rerolling naturally even without the clock manipulation.
I think that may have been an intended effect. The last wishing piece you used wouldn't just go away, it'd stay and reroll each day till you either used a new piece or did that raid.
