They fucked up all gender values since at least Gen 3 and probably Gen 2 as well actually. If it's not 100% then it's not right.

They've made different mistakes and 50/50 used to have two mistakes that cancelled each other, that's all. They removed one so now it's fucked like all of the other ratios.

I am aware, and wasn't saying it was. I was saying this is the second time we've gotten gender changing Pokemon.

Though this time requires manipulation instead of just being surprised by it happening "naturally".

I still get pretty excited about it, but it's largely on my own terms.
Though to be fair, with how easy they are to get these days even without injecting/bug abuse, it's kinda taken the enjoyment out of it all for me and has mostly devolved into a system of "Alright, which shiny do I want to have for my for-fun teams for the battle tree?"
It's just all so tiresome.

Shinies value has always been your perceived value
Cheats, RNG abuse, and save editors have been a thing since pokemon's inception so this is nothing new

If you only hunt shinies so others can see you as a special snowflake then you're doing it wrong

The glitch happens because of the gender ratios, so it'll only happen if the ratios between the previous stage and the evolved ones are different which means this only really applies to Combee and Salandit

Evolving the Pokemon doesn't actually change the gender, it just reassigns. Each Pokemon is basically assigned a value, let's just say 1-8, and it then looks at the ratio for the Pokemon to determine. Let's say your Pokemon rolls 7, a 50/50 mon would be female if we say 1-4 are male and 5-8 are female but an 87.5/12.5 mon would be male since 1-7 are male in this case. Kirlia and Snorunt are probably possible, but Burmy and gender differences wouldn't be affected.

The reason it works is because Pokemon like Salazzle, Vespiquen etc have to be 100% female. Any Pokemon that becomes one of these is necessarily female, even if they were previously male. So no, gender-swapped exclusives should not be possible.

Looking at the pastebin it looks like they used all of their calculations based on 253 instead of 256 which is typical. I have no idea why, but suffice to say that 256 is a nice, clean number to divide and 253 is not
