Honestly removing Pokémon is the reason for sales. Long time gen 1 guys jumped back on because of removing Pokémon. Honestly 400 is still too much 250 would bring in more. It’s what the people want

From a logic standpoint any novice programmer could make Pokemon. It's just objects, very simple arrays, and some math. The hard part would be the art, graphics engine, and other non-gameplay stuff.

Gen 1 also took them six fucking years to make and they ran into financial troubles (that Ishihara had to pull them out of by giving them more money) during development
