Yes, both because the core staff is incompetent and because the shareholders that fund it don't care about the game's quality. And they make more money than God doing it that way, so they aren't going to change. Remember that SwSh are the second mainline games on Switch, and the second mainline games to cut mons and leave z-moves out.
SwSh cut half the mons out because they didn't have enough time and money to implement them fully. But the overly easy gameplay and half-assed story would still be there either way.

Pokemon doesn't stack content. That's the main issue a lot of you have. They add some content each gen, but then take out previous content. Each new gen doesn't progress so much, but it doesn't really regress much either. It generally stays in one place and constantly shuffles new gimmicks to maintain some sense of freshness.

It's the nature of any large franchise to devolve once it develops an established rabid fanbase that will consume anything regardless of quality, just ask Final Fantasy fans. As long as Pokemon keeps selling it'll keep getting worse because quality ultimately amounts to spending money on development and companies aren't going to spend more when they can spend less and still sell millions in the first week alone. As long as GF holds a third of the franchise they'll never have a reason to try.

Like I said, they remove content. But Swoosh adds content that previous gens don't have. The obvious addition is raids, but they also added quality of life improvements like accessing your PC from anywhere and various EV/IV training efficiency improvements.

People have been complaining about Pokemon games as far back as Generation 2 with the complaints becoming more widespread/harmonious around Gen 6.

It wasn't bad for lack of trying but corporates got in the way and shit the bed real hard. The second wave of DLC that was supposed to fix the game got completely cancelled so it's a shell of a game that was rushed out and doesn't feel complete. Pirate but don't buy and if you don't particularly care about the series then don't even bother.

Haven't played a Yakuza game since the PS3 but if it holds up to that standard and isn't censored/cut like some of them were then you'd probably have a blast. It's better than FF15 I can tell you that much.

I absolutely believe that Pokemon is past its prime and the only possible path is slow decline into irrelevancy once the gen 1 nostalgia fad dies. The big problem is that Pokemon at its core is a 2D game series, they completely missed the transition to 3D. They need a revamping of the combat system and game structure to get it up to standards of modern JRPGs.

Pokemon is pretty mediocre. The peak was probaby gen 3 or 4 (because of hgss and emerald) which is probably the best attempt pokemon has made at making an immersive adventure experience. but other than that the games are varrying levels of "playable"

What reason is there to improve the series? The games just exist to generate merchandise and Pokemon's audience will buy the games regardless of their quality. I honestly think that Game Freak doesn't have the technical expertise to develop 3D games either, as I find the models, animations and textures are all not amazing. The frame rate drops also show that they have zero idea how to optimize their game. The games will get worse simply because there isn't any economic incentive for them to improve and they simply don't have the knowledge to fix the issues plaguing the series.

Demon should be screaming for LGPE. I hate SWSH but LGPE will always be the most embarrassing moment for the series. Not really, because GF said that they were making a core Pokemon game that "every fan wanted" for 2019, so LGPE were seen as mostly unnecessary, though awful, games. But obviously people already knew it was going downhill from there on as well.
