First of, "no one" is an exaggeration.
Second, it's a number of factors: for start, let's face it, the design is not very good, and it's not a popular mon for combat either, and then it's a fox which has insane competition with such recognized waifus as braixen, ninetails, vulpix, zoroark and others.

I drew Nickit NSFW minutes after it came out and have zero interest in drawing whoever this guy is.
Moustache is ugly, no reason to have it on top of the mask. Design is too middle of the road, too many human-like qualities to be popular as a full feral mon but not bipedal to stand with the other furbait Pokemon.
Like >>41884585 said there is literally no reason to draw it over other fox Pokemon, or even other Pokemon introduced this gen (Toxtricity, Obstagoon). If I had to draw this thing or Umbreon I'd choose Umbreon every time because it has a better design, would be easier to draw and can be passed as either male or female instead of being hard locked as male thanks to the moustache. Removing it doesn't even fix all of its other issues.

That's because foxes are closely tied to Japanese culture. Doesn't matter if they look like autistic mutants, they're foxes so the Anime will shill them hard just like they did Braixen, Delphox, Vulpix, Ninetales, Alolan Vulpix, and Alolan Vulpix. Only one that wasn't was Zorua and Zoroark because they reminded viewers more of a Tanuki then a fox.

Yes, I am well aware of the importance of foxes to Japanese culture. Thing is, Tanukis are also pretty important to Japanese culture too, but I have literally never once see anyone compare Zoroark to a tanuki, plus neither Zorua nor Zoroark look anything like one. Zoroask's hair is clearly meant to resemble a fox's tail too, looks nothing like a Tanuki's.

the problem with this fox and the dog are that they have super smooth faces like plastic balls with eyes printed onto them. they look goofy and artificial so they're much less appealing than any of the more organic faced dog and fox mons. furries could work with a little facial hair but it's just ugly looking even without it.

That was just an advertisement for bw, that failed because bw didn't sell as much as diamond and pearl.
After that zorua showed up in the anime owned by some idiot making movies, which btw should have been a kabuki theater considering zoroark and zoruas red markings are based on the makeup kabuki actors wear and there's a literal kabuki gym leader.

I don't know why exactly zorua line was so unpopular, it couldn't have just been the rarity of it during bw1.
