There aren't much starter wars among these starters compared to the shitstorm in Gen6 and Gen 7 (or the everlasting Gen1)

Gen 6 had Greninja shitstorm, and Gen 7 had early leaks.
Gen 8 just don't really have starter wars when there were clearly winners (Cinderace and Rillaboom), but also because autistic people left after dexit I guess.
Only femanons care about Inteleon and coping waifufags care about Cinderace here.

Its impressive how quickly people's perception of the Sobble line shifted. It was the clear fan favorite when the original forms were introduced, but now it is nearly universally hated. Yeah, I'd say these are the worst starter designs to date

They think the black things around Cinderace's eyes are eyelashes when it's supposed to be faceprints. Cinderace have thick thighs but a good amount of other pokemon have it too and they weren't treated like waifus. Cinderace is just easy to waifu because it's cute when compare to Rillaboom and Inteleon. That's literally it.

Sorry, I meant to say face paintings used in football. As long you know what is up with black thing around Cinderace eyes, you can see that it isn't much as a waifubait design as Braixen and Primarina are.

Big deal. Samurott has a sensei beard even though they’re based off of seal whiskers. The point is it looks like eyelashes that were clearly put there to give it a more feminine look.

Gen 7 was just a competition of which starter was the least worst. With Gen 8, all the starters aren't good enough to be praised much, but aren't bad enough to raise a fuss, either.
Rillaboom is probably the best, but having it lug around the drum everywhere is awkward.
Intelleon isn't bad, and I don't really get the hate for it, though I wouldn't call it great either. Is it because it's gangly? I feel like its thinness works for a sneaky lizard.
I wouldn't call Cinderace bad, but it feels like I've seen the design a million times before. Literally my mom's King Kazma.

Its the stick figure combined with the giant hands/feet, the fact that it looks like its wearing a tux, weird wings/fins, and bedroom eyes. It just looks off

Plus, my general problem with all of the Gen 8 starters is that they don't look like actual species, they look like characters. I can't picture an entire species of lizards growing up to be sassy spies, a species of rabbits becoming soccer players, or a species of gorillas becoming drummers. Starters shouldn't be identified by what human occupations they resemble.

Yeah, you're right; I made the list without thinking too much on it, but I put 7 way too high. Gens 5, 6, and 7 are tough for me. Gen 5 imo has three mediocre starters with none of them being terrible, Gen 6 has one pretty good starter with the other two being awful, and Gen 7 also has one pretty good starter. the one pretty good starter isn't as good as Gen 6's, but the other two also aren't as awful as Gen 6's bad starters. The three really could go any way, but in the end I decided that three C+'s is better than a B and two D's or a B- and two C's

Gen 1 > Gen 3 ≥ Gen 4 > Gen 2 > Gen 5 > Gen 7 ≥ Gen 6 > Gen 8
