The phsical special split wouldn't be such an improviment if every pokémon prior to gen 4 had their stats based around their typing.

The physical special split was a disastrous decision. There is now literally 0 reason to have mixed attacking stats. Every point in a Pokemon's BST allocated to it's lesser offensive stat is completely wasted.

Thats actually because of EVs and IVs (since you can't max them all), had Game Freak stuck with DVs mixed attackers wouldn't be such a joke.

This does have a lot to do with it. You could go mixed without a thought in the Game Boy games because you didn't have pick. Although I would imagine everything getting max bulk is part of what made Gen 2 PvP so stallish.

Good thing that prior to gen 4 there was only 2 Ghost lines that were special attackers and only Flareon and Entei were fire type physical attackers while every other fire mon was either special or mixed.

Gen 2 was such a stallish mess because they buffed Snorlax's Sp.Def to 110 and the only good Fighting moves were Cross Chip and High jump kick (which only the Hitmons learned), now combo that with leftovers, rest and pre nerf sleep talk.

Okay? I know base stat doesn't matter that much but you're comparing 2 2 stage monotype shitmon vs a starter, and articuno with its high spD could maybe survive a fire attack from Typhlosion. You might as well use rockslide or some shit.

Other Pokemon got more buffed than others because of the split and more powerfull pokémon showed up.
If guy A trains in a gym and guy B trains in the same gym but more and therefore becomes stronger than A, does that mean that A didn't get stronger just because he was better than B before the training?
