In the anime, a group of Malamar were portrayed as legitimately, to-the-core evil. They tried to enslave Team Rocket and even other good, peaceful Malamar.

Yes, and they'll never do anything with this, either, or add a genuinely malevolent Pokemon as the plot focus. They had their chance with Necrozma, but went "no, it's just in pain!" Eternatus is just Necrozma again.
