The wild upsets me. Finding fully evolved pokemon in the wild just makes everything you do feel cheap. Finding high level evolved pokemon should be an oh shit moment reserved for the most late game areas in the game, and it should only be reserved to a handful of pokemon.

I felt this exact same way about SOS hunting. I haven't played SWSH but if I'm not mistaken more full evos appear in the wild area than SOS in gen 7

Because the primary purpose of pokemon used to be trading. That was the entire point. Grouping up with your friends to complete the dex, and battling out with strong pokemon that you personally found, bred, and evolved. Game lost it's soul. Gamefreak just acknowledged that no one actually trades, everyone just goes online and begs, or buys two copies of the game. They also know that every single competitive pokemon is injected trash. Wild is negative soul levels.

this thread just points out that there are multiple groups of people that play this game. Those that play it as a single player rpg, those that play it as a cooperative rpg, and those who treat it as a competitive game. You cant please everyone.

When I see em in the wild I'm thankful that I don't have to spend time or resources having to evolve them myself when completing the dex. If it bothers you that much you can just very easily ignore them

It is but it definitely saves time having to go through the whole "weaken pokemon, possibly put a status condition on it, and now throw balls, sometimes having the mon kill itself by uncontrollable means, thus having to restart the process*

Plus it's not like Quick Balls are easily obtainable in this game. You're either grinding for Watts or waiting until the very last town before they're buyable with cash

Back when I was 10 playing pokemon red, no one knew where every pokemon was. everyone at school was trading like crazy, even for non version exclusives because none of us had any idea where every single pokemon was. Imagine if Gen 9 was actually not one, but SEVERAL pairs intended to appeal to each audience.

>Single Player
This one would have only simple online features, but would have an amazing story rife with well-written characters, lore, maybe even tying up a few plotholes.

>Co-op
This one would be more like what mainline Pokemon is now. Not much story to speak of, but the online modes would be more complex and rich for those who want to use them.

>Competitive
This one would be more akin to PBR than an actual Pokemon game, per se. It would have the ability to transfer Pokemon from Home, SwSh, Bank, or the other Gen 9 games in, or you could use the built-in teambuilder to create "Dummy Pokemon", which have a plush texture and are unusable outside of the online modes.

Not that anon, however I played the games when they came out and the novelty of trading wore off almost immediately because almost no Pokemon was actually rare besides, ironically, the well known cases. By the time gen 2 hit nobody gave a shit outside getting exclusives because they couldn't get their hands on a second copy themselves. Game Freak realized people actively disdain the trading restriction after entirely too many generations, so they decided to ease up on it which is one of the best changes they've ever made.

OP how? You can only catch these fully evolved Pokemon after 8 gym badges, then after you beat the champion, the level cap of all wild Pokemon raises to 60.

Yes i sure do love having to ebeg for version exclusives and trade evo mons or I have try to go ingame random trade and attempt to communicate with some retarded jap or mexican who can't understand my pokemon, which i had to go name rate to ask for a specific pokemon, then get a million people not willing to trade with me, or has the same version, or just wants my shinies for his shitty japanese ditto.
So fun, adds so much value and isn't at all a fucking hastle not worth the mon I'm going to chuck in the box forever because I just needed it for the dex.

Because that makes sense. Flareon should exist in the wild. It makes sense for an Eevee to accidentally touch a fire stone.

The fact you can see a Machamp walking around finally makes it seem like a real Pokemon and not just a gimmick to get you to interact with another person (aka for TWO people to spend money)
