Remember how mega evolutions were retconned in Sun & Moon to apparently be really painful for the pokemon, and then in the next gen they were shitcanned? It's almost like they wanted the fans' opinion of mega evolution to be lowered so they wouldn't be angry when it was removed. How much do you wanna bet that when Sword 2/Shield 2 / Gun comes out, the gigantamax pokedex entries are gonna be changed to make dyna / gigantamax look really painful so that the little kids stop liking it so they won't get sad when the whole mechanic is thrown out next gen
