All third versions we've gotten synce RS had clear hooks for it, SwSh has no hooks or hints since there is no third legendary and since the plot is over.

There are also no legendaries in the game besides the box duo and eternatus, and they all have alt forms already. With that and how gen 4 remakes seem to be teased, I can really see them skipping a third version in favor of those and then a gap year after that until gen 9.
