Let’s be honest, the only good thing about the soundtrack is that Toby fox was able to sneak in an instrumental of his homestuck fansong about male pregnancy. And even then, it’s shit.

Gym leader, Hop, and Battle tower are only standout tracks. The rest range from mediocre to outright bad. I don't know what happened, Pokémon usually has really good soundtracks

I don't hear any route music yet, but there are some good battle themes like marnie, hop and oleana. Not a big fan of the gym leader theme and Leon has the worst champion music to date. I still thinking ORAS has the worst soundtrack

I don't know much about making music, but a-lot of this game's soundtrack just sounds...Rough and...Mechanical? I dunno. Then there's all the loud dog howling for the legendary music...The only tracks I ended up liking were Marnie's league theme and the one for the Gym Leader tournament.

The main problem with the soundtrack is that it relies on leitmotif way too much. Did we really need the Wedgehurst theme for Motostoke, Wyndon, Eternatus 3, the only melody of the champion fight that isn’t hall of fame?

Honestly no.
Red/Blue are total trash now that every other game out shows how slow, buggy, and boring it really is.
Diamond/Pearl have a special place in my heart for being huge time wasters, though I enjoyed Platinum's story enough that the gen could be redeemed.
Ruby and Sapphire are the same way, only I think they're bad stories but with good content, and I think SwSh's empty story but enjoyable content and quality of life changes puts the two of them on par.

Not to say they're awful soundtracks, each game as atleast 3 really good ones.. SwSh just has the 3 most notably worst ones in the entire franchise (all the howling ones)
