It's amazing how this thing is just a complete void of appeal.
It's genuinely one of my least favorite Pokemon. It's just a skeletal dragon, but at least that concept could at least look kinda interesting if it wasn't just aping off of Necrozma's polygonal look to a worse effect. Nobody could even tell what the fuck this thing was supposed to be the first time they saw it, you've gotta look at it for a bit before you make out what everything's supposed to be. This thing makes the genies look good in comparison.

It just way too fucking similar to Necrozma ('third' legendary comprised of dark angular crystalline shapes, bound together with bright energy), who we JUST had.

These reference sheets are made IN ORDER to create the model. And usually the official artwork is just a polished version of it

No, the final Sugi art work doesn't have to be made before the model. The normal process would be that some people make sketches and reference sheets then the model gets made and finally comes Sugi to draw the official art using the model as reference himself.
