>Top Tier - Essential Pokino4, 5
Why: 4 felt fairly balanced to me, and both had amazing post game content. 5 has my favorite story and characters and introduced rotation battles, my favorite format.
>High Tier - Recommended for all players6
Why: Criminally underrated, but definitely still flawed with poor plot, champion and postgame. Great OST, nice attempts to balance against Dragons, and Megas made several shitmons actually viable. Hyper training and Amie were fun diversions.
>Mid Tier - Worth a try all Pokefans2, 3
Why: 2 introduced and fixed so much from 1 that I wanted to put it higher, but it still had a lot of problems with balance, postgame, level curve and glitches. 3 was just so boring and bland for me and felt like a huge step down from 2, but abilities were a welcome addition and Emerald introduced the Battle Frontier which was great.
>Low Tier - Only worth it for the most hardcore1, 7
Why: Both are fun diversions, but the longer you look at them the more obvious the flaws become. 1 should be lower than 7, but 1 is the first and kinda gets a free pass while 7 took steps back that it really should not have.
>Bottom Tier - Not recommended8
Why: Just look at any topic about SwSh on this board. If you thought 6 or 7 were rushed, then SwSh is that on steroids. 8 takes out a lot of the features the previous gens introduced and, what it adds in, isn't really worth it. Curry, raids and the wild area don't make up for GTS, Battle Frontier or the 500 missing Pokemon. If you're a diehard Pokefan, you might get some enjoyment since "It's Pokemon", but without that brand name it's just a mediocre JRPG.
