I prefer the bunny to the rest of the starters, but it truly is annoying when the anime shows a blatant favouritism for one starter in place of the others.

I think Johto handled the starters the best way, even if only Chikorita got to evolve in the anime.

Then again, I do remember seeing May's Blakiken alot more than Ash's Sceptile so maybe while the Treeko line started line the Torchic line eventually over took it once they got better moves and the mega evolution meaning out of 8 fucking gens Grass has never been popular and Water only has been more popular than fire once and only because the fire starter ruined itself with it's shitty typing, movepool and final evolution not being as much of a waifumon as the 2nd evoution, Braxen has way more porn and popularly than Deplox did to the point it got in that fighting game over Deplox and Deplox only appeared in a throw away scene in both the anime and the special manga used by villains

Man, I go back and look at the old starters and I still like Greninja, but it's insane to me that anyone (myself included) thought this form's design was acceptable at any point. It's literally a frog with bozo the clown hair sticking out of the sides of it's face.
