Levitate is an anomaly that shouldn't even exist. All Pokémon that "float" (A-Raichu, Klinklang, Volcarona, etc) should naturally be immune to Ground-type moves. Also, fish Pokémon (Seaking, Finneon, etc) shouldn't be able to be used outside water. Also, fuck Audino. Why did this thing gained a Mega Evolution anyways? Thank you and goodbye.

Been saying this for a while tbqh.
Remove the Levitate ability and split Pokemon into 'airborne' and 'ground' Pokemon.
All airborne Pokemon are immune to Ground moves and they can have a real ability instead of that meme shit.

Hell you could go a step further and remove Flying's ground immunity too, make actual flying Pokemon airborne and things like Dodrio/Farfetch'd lose their ground immunity.

I agree, I think a Pokemon should have their ability and then a special "skill" on top of that. It would be a short list unlike abilities but it would mostly be focused on special effects like a bonus immunity or resistance, or something else that should be in the Pokemon by default from the lore. Abilities should be on top of that.

Terrain advantages and disadvantages would be a neat mechanic.
For example, fishmons get a speed nerf and lose HP when out of water, but other mons get a speed nerf in water, and lose HP underwater.

But that's exactly the reason Levitate exists. These Pokemon are forced to have that one ability and for muh lore reasons, simply because it wouldn't make sense otherwise.
Look at the Pokemon that have Levitate, only Bronzong, Duskull and now Weezing have other options, it's boring

Rest is shit, but yep. Things inherent to their biology should be separated out as adaptations rather than abilities.

Levitate, Rough Skin etc. should be adaptations.

Change flying to resistance to ground, and add floating as a quality. Floating provides immunity to spikes, terrains, and ground moves like Earthquake, but not ones like Mud Bomb or Bone Club

What on earth do you gain from needlessly making the game more complicated by adding features? When have you ever been helpless against a Dodrio and desperately wished you could hit it with a Ground attack? Honchkrow was standing on the ground in DP, would it be weak to Earthquake then?
