I liked the diving segments and think that they'd be neat as hell on a modern console if GF would actually put effort into them.

Full 3d explorable ocean sections with hidden caves and nooks and crannies would be god tier. But this is on the same level of pipedream as a full 3d explorable world with modern mechanics, "Like Elder Scrolls but Pokemon" which will never happen.

I like how ORAS added trainers to these areas.

It was a good idea but its didn't relaly help variety all too much anyway considering trainers all have to use the same damn pokemons always so it's just endless chinchous and wailmers and shit.

the diving segments are among the many reasons hoenn games are my least favorite before the switch to 3d. they probably could be done in a way that's enjoyable but lord knows that wasn't it

Diving was good when you could dive and resurface behind un reachable areas to further explore. But it does get tedious. I do enjoy elgetting lost though and use the map legitimately to reorient.

I just wish that Brineys boat would bring you to the other island towns. That was comfy. Also if someone would translate the oras free fly into 2d rse would be a god in my eyes.
