Unova is the best refinement of the formula they'd created in 1996. They're great games, but they don't shake things up very much. You were probably burnt out after gen 3 and 4 being really fucking samey.
Now that we have full 3D mega z dynamax bullshit, B2W2 look like quaint and dignified by comparison.
