This is the exact moment the series died. It made clear what their priorities are, and that they do not have same passion that was there during HGSS to include everything and then some. So they just threw in a little reference but it just added insult to injury as people expected a DLC which never came. Later on in USUM there is a book about the Battle Pyramid. Why exactly? It hasn't been in a game in years and they clearly have no intention in revisiting it. It's just a slap in the face to older fans.
X/Y could be excused for the time for having the task of transitioning everything to 3D, but ORAS was a cashgrab and the quality has only declined since.
