In a way this >>41955730 but also he doesn't wright all his stuff anymore, and their is a slight change in character which could be throwing you off, I find he does have some good newer video but they are mostly hit or miss.

It's because it hasn't been genuine for him in a long time. His early videos were great for two reasons. One was that it drew from his own childhood frustrations with particularly awful games he played. The other is that he often combined his passion for movies with it (stuff like Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones and Friday the 13th). Now it's all just scripted and he only does it because it's what brings in the money.

I still enjoy him right now. His content style has changed but it changed in a way that I think is better for the current times. I think people are just a tad nostalgic for his older stuff though, which I can't say I blame them. Hands down my favorite episode is the Halloween one. That stuff was so charming & full of passion.

He grew old but he didn't get any better at making videos, neither did his collaborators. It's all just too stiff and artificial, at least for me. And it's weird because in part this all started because of his passion for filmmaking
