>>41961303star allies was better designed than the 3ds games imo. the problem was you were so fucking overpowered that you couldn't appreciate the rest of the game unless you actively handicapped yourself. the multiplayer gimmick works in theory but it would've been better off if it worked more like Return to Dreamland where only human players can join you. And if you have to, let you have one partner like in Super Star, with 2 extra slots if you have 4 people playing.
The game looked solid and went back to roots with both the level design and the graphical style, taking a lot of inspiration from the NES/SNES games. If the game was a bit more split up and you weren't able to destroy every single boss in 20 seconds then it'd be appreciated a lot more.
