A reminder that Unova was the most hated region and generation in the Pokemon fandom, and now, it is venerated and the loathing it had transferred over to Sword & Shield.
In about five or seven years, someone will post literally the same post as the OP, but it will be for Galar instead of Unova.
There is no stopping the eternal circlejerk of “Old Good, New Bad”.

The entire duration of gen 5 hoennbabbies kept on whining about muh remakes. Most people on here, like 90%, were enjoying the games and discussing it on here, but all the hoennbabbies did was whining and when they didn't get their remakes they suddenly decided gen 5 sucked. It's fine to have some sort of nostalgia, but most hoennbabbies on here are worse than genwunners with their nostalgia. I myself have the same with gen 1 and 2, but I can at least admit their flaws. This is something most hoennbabbies can't do. It also doesn't help that the tourists from plebbit are also mostly hoennbabbies. But luckily there are some people like you. If hoennbabbies start acting more like this they can maybe redeem themselves from being the worst fanbase

Those are not pokemon designs, those are game of which generation

For example in 5 there is also HG/SS

And I can safely say that Hg/SS + B/W & B2/W2 is thr absolute apex of this franchise

Gen 4 has Platinum B/W and Explorers(and that ranger game where you could get the egg of manaphy)

Gen 2 is gen 2 c'mon

Gen 3 has Emerald with the first battle frontier and the first remakes of the franchise. Also first PMD games too

Gen 1 is gen 2 without gen 2

Gen 8 (let's wait for mega super sword and remakes). Is better than 3DS games, but worse than DS games, shitty plot, good towns, good aesthetic of the region, (let alone wild areas) overall I say a 6,5

7,6 are both trash

The problem with gen 5 is that it did have way too many mons, thus a larger percentage of them were bound to be shit. I'd like to believe Unova was the definitive Pokemon game but there's a lot of Pokemon I like from gens 6-8. Perhaps some of my favorites, in fact. Megas as designs are also really cool, but battles without any of the regional gimmicks are great as well.

I fail to see the issue, aside from a few like Beheeyem and Cryogonal being forgetable, but that's just cause there was a lot introduced that Gen

Meanwhile we have some of the best to date like Golurk, Chandelure, Zekrom, etc etc

And it's done better by being in an actually good Gen, as well as the mon being better most of the time, only time it really loses is in the regional bird being complete ass, but only cause Pidgey is just way more iconic than whatever the fuck the Pidove line is

There genuinely is similiarities though? For example;

Roggenrola line - standard Rock fuck of the Gen that can have sturdy. Needs to be traded for it's last stage to be acquired

Timburr line - standard Fighting mon of the region, even has Guts for one of it's abilities and also needs to be traded for it's final stage

Bouffalant - literally Tauros with an afro

You see what I mean? Also it's literally fact that Gen 5 >>>>>>>> Gen 1, only someone who's really nostalgia blinded would disagree

Nothing's unseated it yet for me which is why I feel so mixed about BW2 for backpedaling or dumbing down so much of what made the first games so potent.

B2W2 didn't impress me. As far as "third versions" go I ended up feeling it added virtually nothing of substance. Seriously, who thought playing movies in a Pokemon game was a good idea? Its saving grace is the PWT, but even that is inferior to what existed in past gens.
