If you take each subsection of the Wild Area as a “route” it’s more than many old games in one. If you take the two sections of the Wild Area as two BOTW regions it’s still pretty good. Overall, I think the size and scope of the Wild area is deceptively undercut by the time it takes to traverse it.
Basically I don’t give a shit about the graphics and anyone saying “INCOMPLETE DEX” is being stupid since there’s never been a region where 800 Pokémon popped up in routes. The only thing I agree with is no caves and extra nooks to explore but I’m not sure how this translates to replayability or going back to explore. I dare you to open up DP and go to a random part of the map, even with caves and random secret spots, and report how much time you spend there doing anything after the story. Then go back and do it the next day and tell us how much fun you’re having.
