Now that the dust has settled, can we all agree that these games are solidly mediocre? Not bad but not good either. It was just okay.

They are the definition of a 5/10 game. It's a game and you can play it. It largely works but doesn't offer anything super stellar to keep you interested. It's the functional equivalent of the stuff that plays on a doctor's office waiting room TV, you'd play it if it was all you had to do at the moment but you wouldn't really seek it out.

Better than Fallout 76.

7/10, QOL changes were great but the game is just lacking and unpolished and rushed overall, I still find it better than SM easily and if they improve it as much as they did with USM it could be great

very good for first versions, I think the systems in place add a lot to the gameplay loop and it's easier to spend time in the game with no discernable goal and still have fun
but if your do have a goal, it's still more convenient and system-driven than previous games, so it is more fun to build a team
overall a decent pokemon game, I put it on par with bw and sm but above xy

I disagree slightly because I think they're a little better than mediocre. They definitely aren't the best pokemon games and of course they have problems but I think they're good despite those problems. Maybe not worth $60 but I bought it for $50 and don't mind that price

Nah. Those games had some fantastic innovations. The gameplay in SwSh feels like a rough draft.
