If that is correct, and if a shiny does appear, since you don't save before the 4th den, do you just roll again as usual since the shiny will be seeded to be that position regardless?

Yes, but after saving, the first two pokemon after saving will be ones you've seen before on the previous advance 3. The third will be a random pokemon, but you've already checked the seed last reload and it wasn't shiny, so you also skip that. The fourth will be random and have a seed you haven't checked.

Says the beggar. The only reason shiny hunting now has popped off (other than new exploits found) is because you can only catch so many GMax Grimsnarls before everyone has 20 of them. So no shit people are turning to shiny hunting for a more exciting experience. And leeches have always existed in this general. It's existed for 5star raids, it's existed for Gmax raids and it'll continue to exist for shiny raids. Get over yourself with this whole "BACK IN MUH DAY THIS GENERAL WAS GOOD"

ok can anyone explain to an idiot how the shiny exploit exactly works step by step? i know how to do the normal exploit to refresh the dens, do I just go 3 days forward, check and reset while the den is stuck on "searching for other players..." until I find a shiny?

i think you need to catch a pokemon from the den you want and someone here can tell you the seed the den is in and how many resets you need to get a shiny seed, then when you get the shiny seed you just reset to get the pokemon you want shiny

Should be in future OPs.
Also future OPs should mention the backup save info too, since this method can be used to create a state where you have the ability to generate any shiny from a den, as well as lock in a shiny Gmax at the same time.

I thought the body looked darker and looked it up and saw that shiny Corsola had a darker body--doesn't make any sense Dynamax is suddenly darker like a shiny without being one.

Funny enough I actually prefer using the old method when resetting a den because when I have to check each pokemon and reload I can ultimately get it done faster without starting a battle. Both methods make you go through a 2 second "communicating" process anyway.
Also if there's an anon here checking den seeds how exactly do you go about it, I know the jist but what's actually needed from my end?

You catch a pokemon from your current raid, don't save the game, go into trade and offer the pokemon for trade. That's enough for me to deduce the seed. As long as you don't complete the trade it doesn't save and you can reset.

You can save whenever as long as you're accurately keeping track of the number.

When I did this, I used this.
https://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd.html
Put in the start date, put in add 805 or something, and then skip day by day until you reach the date calculated.

How exactly are natures determined in dens? I've caught several mons from Mimi's dens and while they all have the exact same IV spread, different species have different natures. Not like it matters because of mints, but just curious since all of the mons I caught in Darck's dens from yesterday had a Hardy nature.

Nature is the last thing that gets rolled, and depending on the species and star count of the raid this will be a different number.

Things like gender ratio and star count are responsible for different species having different natures.

its hard to tell, this is a theoretic approach.

The seed is a 64 bit number, meaning there's 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 possible seeds. With ec and pid there's a algorithm that can quickly deduce by calculating backwards and leave you with less than 10 seeds to check for the iv spread.

The problem is not so much catching pokemon in a row, but without that optimized algorithm you will have to search the whole 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 numbers, which is impossible to do in any sane time. Deducing from IVs is not as straight forward, so we'd have to ask the person that managed to write the deducing algorithm for pid/ec and ask them if its possible to do with iv, too.

If such a algorithm exists I would assume that 3 or 4 pokemon would be enough? that's just a guess though. Calculating the seed in time is the bigger problem.

if you've kept reloading after 4 time skips then you are still 98 time skips away from the shiny seed. basically you want to time skip 90 times in a row before you do the "check next 4 pokemon" thing.

its two separate things:
When you load your savegame and check your den, the first 3 pokemon will be fix (they are stored with the savegame), however, the 4th and following pokemon are random.

The seed however, will stay the same, so the 4th pokemon will be generated with the same seed, but it will be a random pick from the den.
That means if you align your save file in a way that you save with the shiny seed being on the 4th pokemon, you can continously reset and give away the complete den in shiny.

The 98 just means thats where the shiny seed is, if you want to reroll for pokemon in the den you need to save 3 timeskips earlier, so at 95.

Okay, went after the Gmax list and Gengar is literally the only mon that fits this description. Grimmsnarl is the opposite case where you're cucked if you end up with the HA because Pickpocket is hot garbage. So that kinda sucks.

Nope. Doesn't affect anything.
Though doing the lotto would probably be more profitable.
Only downside is that in the wild area, you can clearly see the days changing which might help if you get distracted easily or aren't focused.

It think it's confirmed that raids only roll over if 24 hours pass. What I've been doing is every once in a while, I go to by Dubwool raid, invite others, roll back the clock a day and to like 1am. Then exit out and save. Basically a reverse timeskip exploit.

With pkhex you can tell exactly how many resets you need until you find a shiny. If the number is too high you just reroll your seed.

That's not too bad, I think. I had to listen to 1000+ consecutive Chatot cries in Gen 5 to get my shiny Latios so I don't think I'll go insane from this.
Hopefully I'll get shiny Grimmsnarl to pop from this and it doesn't have HA. If it does, then that's a huge RIP because everything else in this den is garbage, except for maybe TTar (though Sand Stream is definitely the better ability in most cases)

if you think you are at 89 save now, then do 9 skips and enter the raid, it should be shiny. If it is not shiny you miscounted, so try reloading and do 8/7/6 timeskips.

If it is shiny then you want to do 6 time skips and save, that should put you 3 skips from the shiny seed.
