>>41986709what do you mean by "I could win" though? did you make the gxe cutoff to vote on the ban, using your bros, or did you just beat on low ladder shitters? because if it's the second one, the same thing that let you use mediocre pokemon to beat shitters with meta teams makes actual high level gameplay extremely high variance. dynamax turned way too many turns into 50/50s that never should've been that way and that's core to why it was banned (there's a lot more to the logic than that obviously but that was a big part of it). now when you're playing truly low level players, slightly better awareness of those 50/50s could take you to wins with mediocre pokemon, absolutely, but smogon doesn't balance around how many pokemon can viably compete, they balance around whether the metagame is competitive in the sense of producing results that are more or less indicative of skill - which is an inherently difficult balancing act in a game as full of rng as pokemon. that the results are an expression of skill is far more important than that your favorites are all viable to most high level competitors, and that's why the community voted the way it did
