In the real world, we know that certain closely related species can interbreed to create an infertile hybrid species. Lions and tigers make Ligers and Tions, Horses and Donkeys make Mules, etc.
So will we ever see something like that in Pokémon, and would you want to?
Say there is a native Lion evolutionary line and a native Tiger evolutionary line in a region, but they are capable of breeding to make a single stage, unbreedable Liger Pokémon?
