Yeah it's kind of a shame, I'm super supportive of pokemon getting more competition but temtem really has the feel of a knockoff pokemon phone game, rather than something with a visual and thematic identity of its own. A lot of the monster designs feel like they're right out of a moderately talented teenagers fakedex, just neon animals with a mask and fur patterns.

The retarded thing is that the offspring inherits the lower fertility among the parents

>While producing an offspring, both parents will lose one level of fertility. The resulting child will inherit the lower fertility value between the two parents **after** its egg is producted. For example, if one parent had 20 fertility and the other had 14, after producing an egg their fertility will lower to 19 and 13, respectively, and the child will be born with 13 fertility as well.

If it was a set value per temtem with rarer critters having something like 3 then it'd not be as bad

Makes sense in a Multiplayer game with trades, otherwise only 1 person has to make a perfect TemTem and then sell it to others
If it was a set value nothing stops you from breeding the children and getting a chain of perfect TemTem

1 perfect parent > 1 perfect child > 3 perfect grandchild > 9 perfect ...

The alternative is going the PokeMMO route and both parents are lost upon egg creation

I think it's how plastic a lot of them look in the official art, combined with the really odd color choices. The handful of designs that actually stand out as alright to me are a few of the fish or sea serpent mons that are usually just a basic blue and don't get quite as ruined by looking reflective
