Are you actually being for real right now?
One of their main reasons for removing Pokemon from the games was for competitive balance.
And TPC/Gamefreak focusing more and more on VGC

no lol they removed mons because they've realized they can literally cheap out to the nth degree on a game and still break sales records. they could've had the same balance by making the vgc season regional dex only without cutting natdex and that's literally what they used to do at new gen launches

Sure, but they used it as an excuse and shilled for VGC. Also pushed for their online to be more tournament focused with closer parity between VGC and online doubles while making competitive more "accessible"

That's not a comparable situation at all.
Their very own words are that competitive balance was a major reason for it. Whether it's a lie or not is somewhat irrelevant because then the pro vgc players came from the woodworks to defend this bullshit and since release say that the meta is soooooo gooood.
Esports is a cancer to gaming for the most part.

They dumb down the single player elements because they want "accessibility" to competitive play. They don't actually like RPGs, they just like jerking themselves off for beating other people in this RNG-riddled game of chess.
Pokemon is a skinner box game about collecting and raising. It was never supposed to have the feature of battling other players, only trading.

They should dumb down the breeding/iv/ev/nature/ability shit even further, and then balance the games around it. Making good and competitively viable Pokemon even more accessible not just during the postgame is all the more reason to make the ramp up the games' difficulty.
But GameFreak won't, because they're GameFreak.

Obtaining a great Pokémon should be a very time-consuming process. Their function as collectibles, trophies and status symbols is more important than their usefulness in battle.
