i've played Pokemon for 20 years. This is the first shiny I've ever encountered.

It used Selfdestruct on the very first turn. This image is a monument to all my sins.

Why does RNGesus hate me, /vp/? How can I repent and gain his good graces?

I did, when they came out. I had Diamond AND Platinum, which meant I was stupid enough to pay money for the barely-different finished version of the game in addition to the rough draft.

I'm not going to buy a DS and a game I already bought and owned when I can just use my computer to accomplish the same thing for free.

You’re not even playing the vanilla game, OP. That Graveler’s name is “Graveler” but the Gen 4 games use ALLCAPS for names (should be GRAVELER)... you sure you didn’t just cheat for a Shiny and decide to bait us?

Since I'm playing on an emulator, I used Pokemon Randomizer to change trade evolutions (which would otherwise be totally unobtainable) and checked a few other options like lowercase Pokemon names, fastest speed text, etc

It'd be way too much effort to find a shiny cheat, run into Gravelers (20% encounter rate) and hope that one has Self-Destruct, and uses it on turn one, for a pointless 4chan post.

And if I was going to cheat, I'd just use an always-catch cheat rather than letting this thing Allahu Akbar on me. I legitimately just got fucked by the RNG here.

(I also checked a catch rate calculator and the Dusk Ball I threw had like an 80% chance to catch the Graveler... just for extra RNG fuckery.)

I know the feeling man. I've seen a shiny Ralts when I was playing Platinum again 2 weeks ago. It used it on its first turn too. I was so ballistic that I just did masuda method to get a shiny in 2 days.
