I had thoughts of this recently. Really, I don't know to go with:
SMT with Pokemon stuff (the types, abilities, moves, and a number of them since all of them is wrong)
Pokemon with SMT stuff (some of the demons reconfigured into pokemon lines, and you have to convince them to join you. And the protaganist can act on his own.

My idea is

>Pokemon instead of Demons
>keep Megaten move counts. Pokemon moves are reconfigured into Megaten style Skills, with multi-targeting and stuff like that
>Add passive Skills like Megaten. Maybe abilities can be Skills too, and Pokemon just have innate ones.
>All other type and combat mechanics work the same as in Pokemon, but with some kind of Press Turn or Smirk mechanic
>Add Alignments and make Alignments work with some mechanic (my Law Gardevoir and Chaos Grimmsnarl can't work together, for instance.) Maybe something like Strange Journey

it would be trash. but I'd that Atlus buys the pokemon IP and ditches Nintendo so we can have decent pkmn games. I know it won't happen but SMT shits all over pkmn.

one of both series' weaknesses is that there aren't any visual differences between the exact same mons and demons. if it wasn't for different natures and personality types it would be really dull.
