Alright, I'm 3 days away from my shiny seed and I've got pretty much that part down. End goal here is for a Gmax, but I want to farm other mons in the den as well. I'm guessing I utilize a backup save to accomplish this? Can someone explain?

Get somebody to trade you something right there. That'll create a backup save that you can access if you press UP+B+X on the title screen even if you save over it when you find a specific pokemon you wanna host for a while.

Do a successful trade and save.
Then you can advance 3 and check as many times as you want.
If you find something you want to quickly host. Save once right before that den, after the advance 3 and host from there until you want to load your backup.
