>>42023369No, the problem was that they weren't skippable. I enjoyed SM a ton my first playthrough, the story is actually pretty decent. Experiencing it the first time is a fun ride. The issue arises in additional playthroughs, when you've seen all of it before and don't feel like seeing it again. Maybe you had to start a new save, or you just wanna catch some legendaries again, or maybe you were dumb enough to buy USUM. You're sitting through the exact same shit you've seen already and don't feel like re-experiencing, you just wanna get to the endgame where all the fun is. But you can't, because you're having story shoved down your throat with no option whatsoever to skip it.
Admittedly, SWSH did address part of the issue by making sure there was nothing fun in the postgame.
