>>42032738I can take palkia and dialga being dinosaurs broadly speaking since they are ancient and kaiju also tend to be vaguely based on dinosaurs. It's just the specific species/families that I'm not buying.
The shuttle and the sundial... no. Not even in the most vague of general shapes. Maybe the former in the sense that dialga's head has this obelisk-like shape that a space shuttle also vaguely posesses.
As for giratina, in its origin forme I could see a resemblance (although I'm positive its supposed to resemble an omukade first and foremost) but in its altered forme it doesn't hold any water.
As for Satan and the horseman of conquest, I doubt they played any part at all in the design of these creatures. The former because you don't need the concept of Satan specifically to have a deity condemned by its major god, every religion and pantheon in the world has one of those (giratina didn't even oppose arceus directly, it was just a handful), the latter because I'll be damned if whoever designed arceus was even aware that horse-riding Jesus existed at all, let alone directly apply it to the design of a pokemon.
For the record, Abrahamic religions aren't the only ones with creation mythos that start with one single god. Actually, the whole thing about the creator of the world being born from an egg sounds awfully familiar. Didn't one of the pre-colonial American tribes have one such myth? Maybe not a creator specifically being born form an egg but maybe the whole universe popping out from one.
Anyway, all this seems more of an intense effort to make sense of these legendaries rather than them making any sense in the first place.
