The reason this is a problem with Pokemon and not Mario is because there's still only one save file for whatever fucking reason. Maybe the game could actually adjust for a second playthrough by removing the tutorials and all the unnecessary shit (not that they should be there to begin with, but this is gamefreak)

It still has really enjoyable movement, it's fun to mess with all of the new mechanics made available to you to get all of the post-game moons, even if the stupid amount of moons aren't terribly meaningful in themselves; if you enjoy 3D platformers, you'll probably enjoy Odyssey.
But Sword and Shield's postgame content is not fun to do. It's just grinding for shinies or raids or BP or whatever, it's nothing particularly enjoyable beyond what's available in any other entry.
