I'm more upset about the fact that they didn't do anything to help mons that lost megas that relied on them. Mawile desperately needed a buff this gen since it was losing it's power but it got shit.

Yes. The only problem with them was giving them to Pokemon that didn’t need it, but that has more to do with Game Freak being retarded.

Not an argument. Opinions on the designs is irrelevant since that is totally subjective. How they objectively affect the game should be the priority of discussion.

what if they ret-con megastones as smaller fragments of the wishing stones that allow dynamaxing? like saying the Eternatus meteor flied over kalos before crashing in galar and the small part of it that fell down on Kalos became the mega stones? that way you can retcon the whole "dynamax" is just a distotion of space arround the pokemon and megas as incomplete Gmax (due the lack of enough wishing stones energy)

I never understood why they didn't just use the Mega-Forms as their G-Max Forms. Like, ok, they saw their mistake in making Megas somewhat of a must have. But just scrapping their forms? (And still giving Charizard another)

Yes but a lot of mons didnt need them seeing how they were already good or great without them. Megas making shitmons good was great and should've stayed that way but ORAS took it to fucking extreme levels

I would prefer if they just stopped doing gimmicks.
The majority of megas were either for Pokémon that didn't one, or Pokémon that sucked and were also stage 1 or stage 2 lines. You could've fixed the same issue with just adding some new evos.

Lucario and Gardevoir both weren't really that great before them. When you really think about it a lot if them weren't that amazing?

I just think it was wrong to stop there and for it to end the possibility of a evolutionary line like mawile. Because of the meta it will never have an evolution.

lucario was very good in gen 4 because it was one of the few pokemon that could run an offensive mixup viably. that entire concept was mostly rendered null in gen 5 because of defensive power creep (basically no lucario set could kill amoonguss, very few could deal with lando t, etc) and then they buffed it to absurd proportions with mega luc (which got banned) and the x/y charizard mixup.

I hate it so much. Even gigantamax will suffer the same fate, centiscorch and KINGLER wont ever get an evolution because of that too.
