Regular G-Maxes are very easy to find and get for yourself and I've got multiple of each.

On the other hand, shiny G-Maxes are a bit more tricky. That's what most people is going for now anyway.

I have been loosely paying attention these past weeks, let me see if I understand shiny raid hunting properly.
1: the first three den spawns upon turning the game on are predetermined, from fourth onwards it's random
2: the shiny seed is generated when you use a wishing piece, meaning if someone checks the seed for you (which I don't know how is done) by joining a raid and catching it and checking, they can tell you how many advances you need to do
3: the smartest way to check for shiny raids without having the seed checked for you is to use the piece, check the first four raids for shininess, if they all fail, reset the game, advance a day, then save, reboot, and repeat.
What am I missing?

You've pretty much got it! You don't need to keep using a new piece but I may have been misreading that. Once you have your rare/purple beam up, do the save/advance 3 days thing until the fourth day is shiny and then that will be it.

You got it right, doing 3 manually takes forever though, so people get their seed checked (catch a raid pokemon, dont save, open trade, let someone with cfw check it, reload savegame so your den is back). If you see that your seed is more than 1.000 away you can just clear the den, put a new piece in it and get a new seed (that you have to get checked again).

Once you know you are 300 time skips away you can just do them all in a row without checking the raid or saving or reloading, so its a lot faster than your option 3.

Would it be possible to implement a system where you for example trade a pokemon with a nickname as the link code to 4 people at a time so there can be an actual queue? Not sure what limits are to hosting the raids though.

No luckily with this method you can reroll the species. Species is on a separate seed than shiny value/stats. So you save 3 time skips before your shiny day then you can reroll the species of the shiny day mon as much as you want. I’m doing that now to get lapras.

yea whatever pokemon is fine, you get close to the shiny seed first (by advancing the date x times) and then you can reroll the species.
And to know how often you have to advance the date is what you do the seed checking for

Once you get your seed you want to use the VS glitch to quickly time skip towards your seed. Use a date calculator to figure out your landmark dates: I do the date of the shiny, 10 days before, 3 days before. Time skip til you get sufficiently close and make sure you haven’t fucked up.

You can use this tool https://github.com/Admiral-Fish/RaidFinder/releases

punch your seed/den/desired pokemon in and it will tell you what stats the pokemon will have after every single reset. This can be used to tell when it would be shiny, so in your case after 3613 time skips. You can also look for seeds that will be 6iv/ha/etc

now you can decide if you want that or if you'd rather reset the den and get a new seed.

Most people aim for <1000 I guess, sometimes its worth checking the stats of the seed, too, to see if its mb worth grinding a bit longer

If you plan on hosting other things, I'd recommend checking on the backup save and loading it to make sure it's from before.
I also think Kingler isn't too rare, so you can always load and save your backup, and host random pokemon until you get Kingler again.
