I've not seen this anywhere else, so it's a bit of a shot in the dark. You know how Obstagoon is basically a humanoid badger and it tries to bait people into attacking it? It's like the inverse of badger baiting, where people would us dogs to bait badgers into attacking them. I doubt I'm the first to think of this, but it's pretty interesting.

Anon, they are the trial captains and this generation is themed after the rainbow. Kahili is part of the Elite Four when the protagonist arrives but before that she was the Island Challenge CHAMPION, it's obvious the rainbow thing was applied here too, the captains are parts of the rainbow and the campion is pure white, the combination of all colors
