It's just a gym leader boss rush, he removed all roadblocks and sense of progression and there's nothing to replace them
He randomized the palettes for all the non-important NPCs in the game but didn't account for there being more nonwhite skin tones than white ones so the region has been completely Blacked. The sprites also look ugly and stupid from the random colors.
Didn't curve the wild pokemon levels
